Graduate Students

Columbia University’s educational financing options consist of federal, state, institutional and private sources of funds that will help meet the diverse needs of the student population. Columbia recognizes the importance of choices in educational financing and hopes that the options provided will be useful in planning and managing educational expenses.

Graduate students should visit the Student Financial Services Financial Aid pages for an overview of available aid, disclosures and processing requirements. Each graduate school also has a financial aid office to assist you.

School of General Studies

Admitted students who wish to apply for federal, state, and institutional aid, and have not yet done so, should refer to the Prospective Students page on the GS website.

Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program: Students admitted to the Columbia University Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program who would like to learn what types of aid are available to them, should refer to the Financial Aid page on the Postbac website.

Important Billing Deadlines: Fall 2017 New Students

April 26, 2017: Last day to enroll in the monthly payment plan (Spring term only).  Enrollment for the Spring term began on November 15, 2016.  Students and authorized payers are encouraged to sign up early to spread payments over as many months as possible.

Review your Student Account Statement using Student Services Online (SSOL). Dates for the first Fall 2017 billing statement and payment deadline will be posted here when they become available.

30 Days Before Registration

Submit proof of MMR immunity at least 30 days before class registration.*

Certify your meningitis vaccination decision online before class registration.

*If admitted less than 30 days before registration, your ability to register will be on hold until your MMR documentation is received and processed.

2 Weeks Before Your School Orientation

Submit a photo online for your University ID card. You will be able to pick up your card when you arrive on campus.

August 14, 2017 (All day)

First Fall E-Bill statement emailed to students. Includes activity through Summer Term, estimated Fall Term charges and anticipated credits, and a 1.5% late payment charge on unpaid previous balances.

September 15, 2017 (All day)

Payment Due Date for the First Fall E-Bill Statement. Visit the Student Financial Services website for the complete Billing Schedule.

Confirm insurance selection.

Past Deadlines
